  • About this course

This course is aimed at professionals that provide wound care as part of their role, for example, nurses and care practitioners. The module looks at the standard principles and best practice guidelines in relation to wound care and tissue viability and includes the structure and function of the skin, the principles of wound assessment; categorising tissue damage; pressure ulcers and the wound healing process. There is an opportunity to assess a virtual service user’s wound, however the course is theoretical and any practical components should be followed up in the workplace. This module is CPD accredited.
